The Common Laboratory

New solutions
for health issues

The aim of Genious Healthcare / Mindmaze and the Brain Institute through BRAIN e-NOVATION is to design new e-health applications, to measure their clinical effectiveness and to bring these solutions to the digital therapy market of tomorrow.

One of the main ambitions of the laboratory is to develop and market digital health solutions targeting gait and balance disorders in patients with Parkinson’s disease.

Innovation santé

Health innovation process for therapists and patients

E-health innovations are designed to improve the follow-up and care for patients and therapists.

The “Centre for Nervous System Disorders” is at its disposal. The Paris – Brain  Institute –  benefits from a high-performance research potential in neurosciences about several research topics such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, psychiatric trauma, etc. By being all together in a same place: patients, doctors and researchers, it enables the fast development of treatments for lesions in the nervous system and allows to apply them as soon as soon as possible.

Bring solutions
onto tomorrow’s market of digital treatment

An existing need

An innovative method

For the 21st century and all over the world, the focus is put on understanding, treating diseases and trauma from the nervous system. At present 165 million Europeans are affected by a brain disease for an estimated cost of 1.5 billion €.

Scientifically, the aim is to understand the causes and mechanisms of major pathologies of the nervous system but also to suggest new treatments in short term prospects. As regards neurological pathologies, it means to go from a recovery stage to a phase of prevention.

By setting up the shared laboratory, BRAIN e-NOVATION will enable to precisely identify some neuronal dysfunctions and offer new therapeutic strategies. We now have at our disposal a high research level potential in neuroscience. We can also bring about an entertaining and digital treatment to pathologies such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s disease or for some balance disorders or foster motivation.

Validation clinique

Identify disorders

The identification of the disorders is a necessary step before the creation of an adequate therapeutic solution. This step is carried out on the premises of the Brain Institute.

Validation clinique

Design a prototype for a therapeutic game

The creation of a digital health solution is carried out by GENIOUS Healthcare/MindMaze based on disorders identified by doctors and therapists from the Paris Brain Institute.

Validation clinique

Validate the digital treatment tool in the hospital setting

Clinical studies take place on the premises of the Paris Brain Institute and bring together the medical and technical part in order to make the necessary adjustments.

Validation clinique

Use the home or in institute solution

The solution has been put on the market and is available for patients and health professionals as well.

E-health

A future sector

The French e-health market is now worth 17 billion € with a growth potential of 10% per year.

Major players in the health sphere now consider non-drug treatments a credible, effective and lasting alternative. They enable to optimize treatment costs for the health system and for patients. These solutions also help the patient fight against his pathology in an entertaining way without side effects. These solutions also bring strong added value to support the patient along his approved healthcare pathway, in his follow-up, remote diagnostics by the therapist and keep the patient at home.

The Laboratory BRAIN e-NOVATION innovates in his position by designing and marketing e-health solutions recognized clinically efficient. It focuses on Health Serious Games dedicated to training and Therapeutic Games dedicated to care and treatment. These are real added value solutions to support the patient along his approved health care pathway, in his follow-up, his remote diagnostics and to keep him at home.

A multipurpose approach
for digital treatment

Projects and Research Work

in Digital Treatment

Due to population ageing and to illustrate more precisely the background of some neurological pathologies, balance and gait disorders are a major health problem with a high morbidity and mortality rate (10,000 death per year in France). These disorders account for the second cause of disability for elderly people and its outset is not always identified.

Rehabilitation can be beneficial if it fits the patient’s needs through a multipurpose approach (motivity, cognition, emotion) and be kept along time.

On its first economic aspects, the laboratory BRAIN e-NOVATION aims at developing and marketing e-health solutions targeting gait and balance disorders for patients affected by Parkinson’s disease. It appears that these people have established needs in e-health solutions as a supplement to standard treatment.
